Joy Elliott has been serving as the bookkeeper at Faith Christian School for 30 years.  She attended Yuba College and has prior experience in banking, and has owned and operated a business.

Tell us a little about your family:  I was born in Columbus, Georgia, the youngest of six children. My father started pastoring at the age of 16.  I'm thankful to have been blessed with Godly parents and role models.  I have 3 adult children, Nick, Katie, and Melissa.  All three attended FCS kindergarten through 12th grade. I have 8 grandchildren.  Five currently attend FCS.

What is your favorite meal?   Mexican food

What other interesting jobs have you had?  Owning and operating a used car business and trailer park

What do you like to do in your spare time?  In my spare time I love to read, be with my family, and watch my grandkids play football, volleyball, cheer, soccer, softball, basketball, and baseball.

How do you serve in other areas of ministry outside of FCS?  I attend Destiny Christian Church, in Rocklin, California where I am involved in the women's ministry, choir, and outreach. Twice a month, with my granddaughter, we do an outreach "Neighborhood Reach".

As believers we are called to serve. We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are to glow with the light of Jesus in the darkness.  It is a privilege and honor to minister & love on people. Everywhere we look there are hurting people. People that need our love, they need a hug, a listening ear, a prayer, a touch. It is a blessing to be a part of the Homeless ministry with Mr. Herrera.

What is your favorite Bible verse?  Jeremiah 29:11 is my life verse - "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

The best part about following Jesus is...having the confidence that He loves me, His plans for me are good, and even though it may feel like things are spiraling out of control, He is in control. He can be trusted in all things.

What does Faith Christian School mean to you?  FCS has been an integral part of my life for many years. I believe in Christian education. Ultimately I believe success is measured by a life of service and a relationship with Jesus Christ.

How have you been ministered to at Faith Christian?  FCS has ministered to me in too many ways to list. This family has walked through some very difficult times with me, as well as rejoicing with me in the good times. It is such an honor to go to work every day and be surrounded by such an amazing group of Godly co-workers. We cry together, pray together, rejoice together, grow together, serve together.
