FCS PLAYERS LIGHT UP THE STAGE WITH CHARLEY’S AUNT!
Most FCS Players families know that FCS boasts its own alum who is ALSO an Oxford University alum – and a former Oxford history prof: Sister Makrina (Katie) Finlay graduated from Azusa Pacific and Oxford before becoming a Benedictine nun! As an homage to Sister Makrina (an FCS Players alum and former star actress), the FCS Players will follow fall 2013’s hit production of The Importance of Being Earnest and will continue their British-themed 2013-2014 “21st” season with a reprise of an early FCS Players hit – Brandon Thomas’ hilarious comedy CHARLEY’S AUNT!
Oxford students Charley and Jack want to propose to their sweethearts Amy and Kitty – but how to do so with no chaperone available? Then the boys learn that Charley’s millionaire aunt from Brazil is planning a visit, so the proposal is on – that is, until the boys learn that Charley’s aunt is unavoidably detained. It’s too late to cancel – so what to do? Simple: the boys dress their best friend Lord Fancourt Baberly as the elderly aunt – and the hijinks begin. Add to this crazy mix two older gentlemen, both of whom begin to woo the “millionairess” and the laughs are non-stop!
Onboard for the show are FCS Players returning stars Maddy Mertes, Phoebe Silva, Hailey Warta, Matthew Hadley, Keegan Warta and Mason Whinnery – AND – special guest artists FCS Players alums Evan Campbell, Travis Dodds and Alex Samay – PLUS – introducing special guest star FCHS faculty member Lisa Maki as the real Charley’s Aunt!
CHARLEY’S AUNT will play Wednesday – Saturday, April 30 – May 3 at 7:30 pm and a special matinee and “British High Tea” Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 pm. Tickets will go on sale April 1st – Monday – Friday from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm at the FCHS Box Office/Library - so celebrate April Fool’s Day and come buy tickets for a foolishly wonderful comedy AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T MISS – CHARLEY’S AUNT!!!
