Poppinga Wins Scholarship
Kaylee Poppinga, FCHS senior, was honored at the 9th annual Way, Way, Way Off Broadway event, as a winner of the 2012 Way, Way, Way Off Broadway-Yuba City Rotary Club Performing Arts Scholarship. Kaylee, who plans to attend Azusa Pacific University in the fall of 2012 to major in music and theatre, will receive $1000 to help facilitate her plans, hopes, and dreams of a future in the performing arts.
Kaylee was selected from a group of nominees from a variety of area schools including the Marysville Charter Academy of the Arts, River Valley High School, Yuba City High School and Yuba College. The scholarship is presented annually to an outstanding Yuba-Sutter student in theatre, dance, music, or technical theatre. Kaylee is the second FCHS student to win the prestigious award; FCHS alum, Alex Cesena won the scholarship in 2008.
