Announcing the FCS Players Gala 20th Anniversary Season 2012-2013!
20 years ago, theatre artists Paul and Anne DeMeritt arrived in the Yuba-Sutter area and pioneered a new university level preparatory educational Theatre Arts program at Faith Christian High School that swept the region by storm, earned over 40 Elly Award nominations, won 8 “Ellys” and made Faith Christian Theatre a byword of artistic excellence and quality family theatre in the Yuba-Sutter community and beyond! This coming year, help us remember the past, celebrate the present and inaugurate a glorious future for the FCS Players!
We will celebrate our 20th Anniversary with 3 very special productions:
Summer 2012 – Disney’s The Little Mermaid!
The FCS Players Young People’s Summer Theatre Program also celebrates an anniversary this year – our 15th annual Young People’s Summer Theatre Camp – the most successful and critically recognized kid’s drama camp in the greater Sacramento Region! Following our tradition of presenting regional premiers of great new productions including Les Miserables, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Disney’s Aladdin and Disney’s Mulan, for Summer 2012 we will present the regional premiere of Disney’s The Little Mermaid – fresh from Broadway! All the great songs, music and characters in a special format for young actors! Have your students from 7 – 18 years old - whatever their level of experience - join us for fun daily professional theatre training from June 12 – July 14 and 6 great performances July 10-14!!!
December 5-8, 2012 - A Christmas Carol!
A completely re-created musical version of Paul DeMeritt’s highly acclaimed original adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved Christmas Classic! Join Bob Cratchit, the Cratchit family, the Fezziwigs, the Ghosts, Tiny Tim and, of course, Ebenezer Scrooge in a new musical format that celebrates not only our 20th Anniversary but the magic of the Christmas Season!!! Bring your entire family to thus unforgettable holiday event!
April 17 – 20, 2013 - Fiddler on the Roof!
For our 20th Season we reprise the first major musical we presented here at FCS – one of the world’s favorite Broadway shows! Join Tevye, Golde and the family as they sing and dance their way into your hearts! You’ll laugh, cry and cheer the villagers of Anatevka as they discover that to truly live and enjoy life, you must learn the balancing skills of a “Fiddler on the Roof!”
For 20 years the great production team and students of The FCS Players have been bringing Yuba-Sutter audiences outstanding comedies, dramas, special events and Broadway musicals, along with the professional lighting, sound, sets, costumes and special effects you’ve come to expect from this dynamic theatre troupe – and audiences can look forward to many exciting productions to come – all committed to continuing to provide “Excellence in Entertainment for the Entire Family!”
