To focus our elementary students on giving rather than receiving, students do not exchange gifts at their class Christmas parties. Instead, we encourage them to donate items to those less fortunate by contributing to the following programs:
TOY DRIVE
Students who are able to donate a new gift for less fortunate children should bring the UNWRAPPED gift to school on or before Friday, December 9th. These toys may be put in the Salvation Army Toy Drive barrel (minimum value $5) located in the hallway.
STOCKING STUFFERS
Students may also donate stocking stuffers to be given to the Twin Cities Rescue Mission. Stocking stuffer ideas include: socks, knit hats, gloves, handkerchiefs, combs, hair brushes, disposable razors, toothbrushes, and INDIVIDUAL SIZES of toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc. Send UNWRAPPED items to school on or before Friday, December 9th. These items are to be taken to the classroom.
“...Give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven.” Mark 10:21b
