Faith Christian High School just received confirmation of another 6-year term of Accreditation.  A team of educators from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International spent a week on campus verifying the school’s self-study by observation and meeting with faculty, staff, students, parents and school board. They then made commendations and recommendations as part of their accreditation report.  The Regional Accreditation Commissions for each association reviewed and confirmed the visiting team’s report.   As in previous accreditation cycles, Faith Christian has again received the maximum 6-year term of accreditation, valid from 2019-2025.

Faith Christian started in 1975 with grades K-4, while using the facilities of the First Christian Church in Marysville.  Former Yuba City High School Principal and District Superintendent, Clarence Summy was instrumental in starting the school with the goal of adding a grade a year until a junior high and high school was available.  The school moved to use the facilities of Calvary Christian Center, where the elementary campus is today.  The junior high/high school campus opened in 1983 on land donated to the school by the First United Methodist Church.  The first graduating class from Faith Christian High School was in 1982.  This year’s Senior Commencement will be Friday, May 31, 7PM at the First United Methodist Church in Yuba City.  The community is welcome to attend and celebrate with our graduates.
