New School Year Update - Elementary Campus

September 03, 2020
By Bill Hannold, Principal

I wanted to give you a little update now that the 20-21 school year has begun.  We are one week into distance learning and the students and staff are doing a great job adjusting.  Please don’t hesitate to communicate with your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Please take note of the following information:

Day Camp:   The new Day Camp option is going well for those we were able to accommodate coming on site for the learning pods.  Day Camp was made available to help those students who needed assistance with Wi-Fi connectivity and for families with work situations that made it difficult to have their students involved in distance learning at home. Unfortunately, there is a limit to the number of students we can have in the pods to be able to maintain the necessary health & safety protocols.

Sutter County Visit:  We did have a visit from Sutter County officials from the SCORE team (Sutter COVID Outreach Resiliency Effort), who were impressed with the protocols we have in place.  They were very complementary about the Day Camp/Learning Pod format the staff has put together and confirmed that we are in compliance with state and local COVID guidelines.

Waiver:   We are prepared to submit the waiver requesting K-6 students be able to return to campus as soon as waiver submissions are allowed.  We understand that schools in other counties have applied for and received approval of their waivers, giving us hope that we should be able to receive approval for our waiver as well.  We continue to look forward to being able to have all students back for in-person learning as soon as possible.  We are praying that Sutter County’s Coronavirus numbers will soon decrease to the point that we can fully open our campuses to all students.

Commitment to Christian Worldview & the Christian Heritage of our country:   Now more than ever our children need to be taught how to view all of life from a Christian perspective and to learn the Christian heritage of our county.  We will continue to teach the Christian heritage of our country and acknowledge God’s hand of blessing.  May God continue to bless America!

Let’s continue to be fervent in prayer that our students will be able to resume on-campus, in-person learning soon, with all their friends and the Christian influence of teachers who love God and love their students.

We will plan to continue to communicate relevant information as we move through the school year.  Thank you again for the privilege of partnering with you in the academic and spiritual training of your children.

“Let us your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory.  And may the Lord our God show us His approval and make our efforts successful.  Yes, make our efforts successful.” Psalm 90:16-17

Blessings,
