As the 4th grade class we had the opportunity to go to the Railroad Museum, A California State Historic Park in Old Sacramento. In 4th grade we are learning about the history of California and over the last few weeks we have been learning about the “Big 4” and how they helped build the first transcontinental railroad.

This trip was an amazing way for the 4th graders to go see real train cars, real railroad ties, and see what it would have been like to live next to a railroad. This was a great time of not only hands on education, but of bonding and getting to know each other better.
