In-Person Chapel at Secondary Campus

September 22, 2020
By Lance Haliday, JR/SR High Principal

Dear FCS Jr. / Sr. High School Students and Parents,

We are very thankful and excited to have our first in-person Chapel service since last March!  There is just something special about worshipping the Lord with other people right there with you.

Here are some important details about this special event:

  • Chapel is at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday (Sept. 24) this week, not Friday as on our regular Distance Learning schedule.
  • Chapel will be held outside, near the front entrance to the Gym.  Folding chairs will be provided for students and staff.  Some students may be in the sun so please keep this in mind and wear a hat if you want to.
  • According to guidance from our Yuba-Sutter Bi-County Health Officer given to public and private schools, "Services may be conducted outdoors only and are limited to 100 or fewer people. Physical distancing of 6 feet or greater between all attendees must be maintained and face coverings must be worn."  Please help our school stay in good standing with our county by following these guidelines.  Noncompliance may mean a delay in getting our school approved for in-person instruction. Click here for a copy of the guidance to this email for your reference.
  • Parents must conduct a health screening of their student(s) before they can come to campus for Chapel on Thursday.  Parents are to use the myTempTracker tool available on our school's mobile app; or, via a web browser with the link: https://app.mytemptracker.com/  Please complete the health screening by 11:00 a.m. and have your student report to one of our office staff in the east parking lot to verify the screening before they sit down for chapel.  Students already on campus with one of the distance learning pods/cohorts are to complete their health screening prior to coming to campus in the morning as usual.
  • Students must be picked up from campus after Chapel no later than 12:30 p.m.  There is no supervision for those remaining on campus after Chapel.
  • The dress code for this Chapel is casual / comfortable yet modest.  Students are not to wear anything that draws undue attention to themselves.

Please join me in praying that God's purposes for this Chapel will be accomplished. There are many things other than the Lord upon which we can focus our attention and energy.  May we all fix our eyes on Jesus as we approach this special event.   I look forward to seeing you this Thursday!

Blessings,
Lance J. Haliday
